Catching Up With The One And Only Fred Loimer

Fred Loimer is extremely serious about his winemaking.

It’s been a hell of a long time since we sat down in Trinity Bellwoods park to interview Austrian winemaker Fred Loimer. August of 2011 to be exact.

Over the intervening years, Fred’s wines have seriously gone from strength to strength, as witnessed at a recent tasting at Toronto’s Fine Wine Reserve.

Despite Fred looking terribly severe in the above picture, he’s actually a really mirthful chap, and so it was a delight to interview him once again and speak about developments at his winery.
